Chelsea will donate part of their FIFA Club World Cup prize to the family of Diogo Jota and Andre Silva.

From that total, Chelsea created a $15.5 million (£11.4m) bonus pool for the players who took part. Club officials and players agreed that an equal share would also go to the family of Jota and his brother.
Each share is worth over $500,000 before currency conversion, taxes, and other deductions.
Diogo Jota, a Liverpool forward, and Andre Silva, a Penafiel striker, died in a car crash in Zamora, Spain, on July 3. The accident happened just ten days before Chelsea’s Club World Cup triumph.
Liverpool have since announced several tributes. An Anfield memorial sculpture will honour Jota’s legacy. The LFC Foundation will launch a grassroots programme in his name. Players will wear a ‘Forever 20’ emblem for the 2025-26 season.
A fan mosaic and a minute’s silence will take place before the first league match against Bournemouth at Anfield.
In July, Liverpool retired Jota’s No. 20 shirt across all club levels. He had joined from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2020 and scored 65 goals in 182 appearances.
